Who I am
I'm Leo Reed, an independent motion designer and video editor. I'm the person responsible for your data. You can reach me at projects@leoreed.com.
What I collect
- Business contact details that companies publish themselves: your name, work email address, company name and role.
- Short notes about your company's public website or product, so my message is relevant.
- Our email conversation, if we have one.
Where it comes from
Your company's own website, or public business sources such as startup directories, accelerator profiles, launch platforms and news about your company. I don't buy contact lists.
Why I use it, and the legal basis
To offer my services to businesses that may need product or launch videos, and to reply if you write back. Under the UK and EU GDPR, my legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): contacting businesses about services relevant to them. I send one email and at most one follow-up, and you can object at any time.
How long I keep it
Until you ask me to stop, or 12 months after our last contact if we don't work together. If you opt out, I keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list, so I never write to you again.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that run my email, website and notes: Google (email and storage) and Cloudflare (website and email routing). They process it for me under their data processing terms, which include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum. I don't sell, rent or share your details with anyone else. I work from outside the UK and the European Economic Area, so your details are handled outside them under these safeguards. Ask me for a copy of them anytime.
If you email me through my website
If you write to me from my portfolio site (for example at projects@leoreed.com), I use your name, email address and what you tell me about your project only to reply and send you a quote. I keep that email thread for 24 months, or for the length of our contract if we work together. I don't add you to a marketing list. You can ask me to delete it at any time.
Your rights
- Object to direct marketing at any time. I'll stop, no questions asked: reply "stop" or write to projects@leoreed.com.
- Ask for a copy of your details, or ask me to correct, delete or restrict them.
- Complain to me first at the same address; I'll acknowledge within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office) or where I'm based.
I don't make automated decisions about you.
I reply to privacy requests within 15 days.
